£50M DEVELOPMENT SET FOR LISBURN INDUSTRIAL HUB
Lisburn is set to benefit from a £50 million development to further extend the industrial hub at Knockmore Hill in the city.
Planning permission has been granted for KH1 Business Park, a 32 acre site located off the highly successful Knockmore Hill Industrial Estate close to the city centre and M1 access at the Sprucefield interchange. The approved plans will be developed as a joint venture between Eaglemount Properties and Killultagh Properties.
Sam Harris, Director of Snoddons, owners of Eaglemount Properties said:
“Knockmore Hill is one of Northern Ireland’s premier locations for industrial and distribution uses given its excellent access to the rest of Ireland. The development of the site will not only provide significant economic benefits to companies which locate here but will also boost the local economy by attracting new businesses and jobs to the Lisburn City area.”
KH1 Business Park offers light industrial and distribution warehousing units ranging from 5,000 sq ft - 550,000 sq ft.
Richard Steenson, Development Director for Killultagh Properties said:
“This location on Knockmore Hill has excellent potential for tenants. Coca Cola has recently announced that its new Irish headquarters will be located in close proximity and a number of other successful companies also operate from the existing Estate, including McAvoy Group, Powershield, Unicorn, Decora Blinds, Smiley Munroe and Boomer Industries.”
It is also anticipated that current proposals to introduce the Knockmore Link Road – a one mile extension southwards linking with the M1/Sprucefield intersection - will further enhance KH1 Business Park’s high levels of accessibility, when complete.
Brendan Boyd from Killultagh Properties said:
“We are currently receiving strong interest in lettings and are in advanced discussions with a number of prospective tenants. Once that interest is confirmed, we will move to start construction on site as soon as possible. We’re confident that our experienced team can provide a type of specification that will satisfy a very wide range of investors in Lisburn.”
BTW Shiells and Colliers CRE are joint letting agents for the scheme.
